Minimum Salary for New Postdocs
The minimum salary required by Upstate for all new FTE postdoc positions is 90% of the current stipend for Postdoc Year 0 outlined by the NIH. The current minimum salary for all new FTE postdoc positions is $54,907 (updated 4/25/24).

- For externally-funded research accounts, the F-1 form must be approved by:
- the Principal Investigator or Department Chair
- the Dean of the College of Graduate Studies (Weiskotten Hall 3122, 464-4538)
- For state accounts, the F-1 form must be approved by:
- the Principal Investigator
- the Dean of the College of Graduate Studies (Weiskotten Hall 3122, 464-4538)
- the Dean of the College of Medicine (Weiskotten Hall 1256 WH, 464-9720)
- For institutionally-funded research accounts, the F-1 form must be approved by
- Submit the F-1 form to Human Resources.
- Human Resources will contact you and the candidate to appoint to Payroll.
- It is highly recommended that reference letters or verbal references are obtained on Post Doc candidates.
- If Research Foundation appointment, complete the RF Appointment Form. Contact Research Payroll for form.
